AARN Celebrates 20 Years of Excellence in Ruminant Nutrition

The Australian Association of Ruminant Nutrition (AARN) celebrated an important milestone at its 2026 Annual Conference, marking 20 years of supporting the ruminant nutrition profession in Australia.
Held in Melbourne from 13–15 October, the anniversary conference brought together nutritionists, researchers, students and industry representatives to reflect on two decades of progress and share the latest developments in ruminant nutrition.
For an association established in 2006 by a group of industry professionals committed to advancing technical knowledge, reaching its 20th anniversary is a significant achievement.
Supporting the profession since 2006
AARN was established to provide a professional forum for education, technical exchange and continued learning in ruminant nutrition.
Over the past two decades, the association has developed a range of initiatives supporting its members and the wider industry, including conferences, technical resources, mentoring, scholarships and professional development programs.
Its work also extends to recognising professional expertise and encouraging high standards of nutritional advice.
These activities make an important contribution to the development of the profession and, ultimately, the livestock industries it serves.
Reflecting on 20 years of progress
The 2026 anniversary conference reflected both the progress made in ruminant nutrition and the opportunities ahead.
The technical program explored topics including mineral nutrition, reproductive performance, heat stress, feed formulation, feeding systems and advances in nutritional science.
Presentations from Australian and international specialists provided opportunities to revisit established knowledge, consider emerging research and share practical experiences.
The program also included contributions from students and early-career researchers, reflecting AARN's commitment to developing the next generation of industry professionals.
Recognising the people behind AARN
Reaching 20 years is a credit to the many individuals who have contributed to the association since its establishment.
From founding members and successive committees to speakers, researchers, members and industry supporters, AARN's continued success reflects a shared commitment to professional development and knowledge exchange.
The association's contribution extends well beyond its conferences. It provides a valuable professional community where experience, research and practical knowledge can be shared.
A pleasure to support
For 4Sight, the anniversary conference also marked the conclusion of our two-year industry partnership with AARN.
It has been a pleasure to support an association whose commitment to scientific knowledge, professional development and continued learning closely aligns with our own values.
We congratulate AARN on its 20th anniversary and acknowledge the many people who have contributed to its development over the past two decades.
We wish the association continued success in supporting the ruminant nutrition profession for many years to come.
