BeefEx 2026: Building Momentum in Australian Beef

BeefEx 2026 marked an important few days for 4Sight and reinforced the momentum we are seeing across the Australian beef and feedlot sector.

Held on the Gold Coast from 22–24 September, BeefEx brought together 1,200 registered delegates from across Australia's grain-fed beef supply chain, making it the largest BeefEx in the event's 30-year history.

For 4Sight, the value extended well beyond the exhibition floor.

We arrived at BeefEx with growing activity across the sector and left encouraged by the level of industry engagement, expanding commercial interest and the number of opportunities now progressing into practical application.

From technology to practical application

Across the beef industry, there is increasing focus on technologies that can deliver practical improvements in animal production, environmental performance and resource efficiency.

This is where much of 4Sight's work is increasingly focused.

At BeefEx, the 4Sight team engaged with feedlot operators, nutritionists, veterinarians and industry partners from across Australia, with particularly strong interest in biological approaches to livestock environments and organic resources, alongside our established work in animal nutrition.

Importantly, this interest is increasingly translating beyond the initial discussion.

Our focus is now on supporting commercial application, expanding field activity and generating further Australian evidence around technologies gaining traction within the sector.

Bringing new technology to Australian agriculture

Joining Dave and Jon Reynolds on the 4Sight stand was Ken Bellamy, founder of VRM Biologik.

Ken's presence at BeefEx was particularly timely as 4Sight continues to expand the application of biological technologies within Australian agriculture.

Together, we were able to engage directly with producers and industry specialists around biological systems and their application within large-scale livestock environments.

For 4Sight, the objective is clear: identify technologies with genuine potential, understand the science behind them, establish their application under Australian conditions and build the commercial evidence required for broader industry adoption.

That progression is already underway.

An industry focused on what's next

The BeefEx program reflected an industry looking forward.

Across the conference and exhibition, discussions covered global markets, technology, production efficiency, feedlot design, environmental performance and the future of intensive beef production.

Australian grain-fed beef operates at significant scale. At that scale, improvements in productivity, resource utilisation and environmental performance can translate into meaningful commercial outcomes.

For 4Sight, this creates an exciting opportunity to contribute technologies and expertise in areas where practical improvements can be made.

Our approach remains centred on application, measurement and evidence, working alongside industry to demonstrate value under commercial Australian conditions.

Momentum beyond BeefEx

Thanks also to the Australian Lot Feeders' Association for delivering an outstanding BeefEx and bringing together such a significant cross-section of the Australian grain-fed beef industry.

BeefEx provided another important step in what is becoming a growing area of activity for 4Sight.

With field activity expanding, new commercial opportunities progressing and increasing industry engagement across our technologies, we are excited about what lies ahead.

The momentum is already underway, and we look forward to building on it throughout the year ahead.
