On the Road with WagyuEdge ’25: Northern WA Post-Conference Tour

Following the Australian Wagyu Association’s WagyuEdge ’25 Conference in Perth, 4Sight joined the Northern WA Post-Conference Tour for four days on the road through some of Western Australia’s most significant cattle country.

Running from 12–15 April 2025, the tour took delegates from Perth to Port Hedland and through to Broome, with visits to Pardoo Wagyu, Anna Plains and Liveringa Station.

For 4Sight, it was an opportunity to get beyond the conference room and spend time seeing first-hand how large-scale northern cattle businesses are approaching production, genetics, feed, water, infrastructure and resource management.

From Pardoo to Broome

The first stop was Pardoo Wagyu, where the tour met with the Pardoo team and explored an ambitious Wagyu operation being developed in the Pilbara.

From Pardoo, the tour travelled north to Anna Plains, a substantial cattle operation on the Kimberley coast, before continuing to Broome.

The final full day included the Roebuck Silage & Hay facility and Liveringa Station, where delegates toured feedlot, cattle-handling and irrigation facilities.

The diversity of the businesses and environments made the tour particularly valuable. Rather than looking at Wagyu production in isolation, it provided an opportunity to see the broader systems required to support cattle performance in northern Australia.

Staying connected to the Wagyu industry

WagyuEdge ’25 brought together producers, researchers, industry leaders and businesses from across Australia and internationally, with the conference covering areas including genetics, technology, markets, nutrition and the future of Wagyu production. The Australian Wagyu Association subsequently reported 507 registered conference attendees, with 50 participating in the Northern WA tour.

For 4Sight, both the conference and tour provided valuable opportunities to listen, learn and better understand the priorities of Wagyu producers.
